Today is Tuesday, February 28. Sorry I didn't get here yesterday. It wasn't one of my better days. Probably not my worst, though, either. But the good thing is that we may have figured out why I've been getting sick nearly every morning... I haven't been eating before taking medicine. I know that seems pretty basic. Chalk it up to the tumor. I don't think anymore... I just take whatever pills are put into my hands. So this morning when Ken remarked that maybe we should try eating before taking medicine, a light bulb went off in my brain... of course! And guess what? It made a world of difference. :)
Back to the Psalms today.
Psalm 44:5-7a
"Only by your power can we push back our enemies; only in your name we can we trample our foes. I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me. You are the one who gives victory over my enemies;..."
This is one of those verses where I use a little leeway and plug my words in to make the verse make more applicable to me: "Only by the Lord's power can we push back this brain tumor; only by His name can we trample this disease that's trying to kill me. I'll take the treatments, but I won't count on them to save me. Only the Lord will give me the victory over my disease."
And, that's how I make a verse personal to me.
Here is one more card that I made using a bit of origami paper.
SHOW
I used another one of those beautiful Martha Stewart flowers, too. I should probably take one apart and figure out how to make them. But I know that I won't. I guess I'd rather buy it. Crazy, I know.
AND TELL: stamps are Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #12); cardstock is PTI (Stampers Select White); ink is Encore Ultimate Metallic (Copper); also used Aitoh origami paper, Stampin' Up embossing folder (Framed Tulips) and circle punches (1-3/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/4"), and Martha Stewart rose flower.
I guess that is all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by and for hanging in there with me. I'm send you lots of hugs!
So glad that you are feeling a little better. Those meds can make you sick real fast on an empty stomach. I learned that the hard way, too!!!!
Beautiful cards, Janelle. Thinking and praying for you every day, sure do miss seeing you at school everyday! Love :+ )

Hi Janelle...I have a friend who is battling ovarian cancer and her daughters are asking for scriptures to put together for a 5 year survival book. I "borrowed" your scripture and paraphrase from today to send them for her book. Thank you for the perfect thing to send!!! :-) Carmon

I'm glad you had a better day today. I know even vitamins on an empty stomach make me nauceous, so I'll bet you will be feeling much better if you take the time to eat first. Great scripture. I love how you personalize it. I think God gave us these words for each of our trials. Take care.

Janelle I am loving your cards with the origami paper, it adds gorgeous colour and I imagine some texture to your cards.
So glad you seem to have discovered the cause of the morning nausea, I hope the mornings ahead are better!

Janelle, so glad you found relief from your nausea simply by eating prior to imbibing in meds. Like others, I don't even take vitamins until after I've eaten something (just thought I was a wimp). Keeping you in my prayers and sending hugs your way. Happy Leap Day!

Janelle, I've had so many of those forehead-slapping moments in my life...and I don't have a brain tumor! So, so glad you and Ken figured that one out.
Beautiful card, as always. You are an inspiration in so many ways!
