I do love the flowers that I make from my large desk size calendar that I use as a stamping surface. I love die cutting the paper. I love sorting the cuts by color. I love choosing a brad, crinkling up the papers, and putting it all together. And I love using them on cards, tags, and such.
SHOW
Sorry the picture is not super clear, but it is a dreary morning in Charlotte. This card would work as a gift item for a crafty friend, as the flower can be easily removed from the transparency-covered button card and used on another project.
AND TELL: stamps are from Papertrey Ink (Button Boutique, Tiny Tags, Bitty Background Blocks); cardstock is PTI (Rustic White, Kraft); patterned paper is Stampin' Up (Springtime Vintage); ink is Memento (Tuxedo Black) and SU (Crumb Cake); ribbon is from Michaels (yellow sheer) and PTI (1/4" white silk); also used PTI dies (Button Card, Tiny Tags, Beautiful Blooms II #2), a transparency, QuicKutz embossing folder (Geometric Circles), and a glittery brad from my stash.
And, remember how I said yesterday that I was finished using PTI's Round & Round set for awhile. Well, apparently I wasn't quite finished...
SHOW
To create the medallion around the flower I used the large frame sort of image from the set and stamped it three times in a circle... love how it came out.
I did a bit of decorating on the inside of this card, too... first covering up the holes and twine showing on the inside front and then creating little partial medallions using the same technique as I did on the front and punching circles from patterned paper to put in the centers (then trimming even with the edges).
AND TELL: stamps are from Papertrey Ink (Round & Round); cardstock is Stampin' Up (Sahara Sand, Soft Sky); patterned paper is SU (Springtime Vintage); ink is Memento (Tuxedo Black) and PTI (Fresh Snow); bakers twine is Divine Twine (Aqua); brad is from my stash; rhinestones are Kaiser (lavender); also used PTI dies (Edgers #1, Beautiful Blooms II #2), SU's 1-3/4" circle punch, and a Scor-pal.
I woke up today to the sound of rain on the skylight... and I was so happy. When the first clap of thunder sounded at about 8:45 a.m., I was even happier. One of the stress points last week was whether or not to hold our school's annual Spring Festival (and the church Easter Egg Hunt) as scheduled on Saturday (today). It's always a bit dicey to cancel an activity due to extended weather forecasts around here... because often the weather people are wrong. I remember one year when all the schools cancelled classes as a hurricane was headed our direction... and the entire day ended up being beautiful and sunny. So — when we decided to cancel the event, I was a little concerned that the day would be gorgeous and people would be mad at us for scrapping something they had worked hard to make successful. Now I'm saying, "Yay for bad weather!" :)

Those flowers are very special and I love the idea of mounting one onto acetate so that it can be used again. I love your super hi-tech method of selecting a winner and I use this technique myself!
Thanks for my lovely Janelle treasury of comments this morning. I really do appreciate you taking the time. Have a great weekend. Vx

Love the decorated inside of the card and I'm going to have to give those flowers a try. I like that they look full and light at the same time.
Glad it rained for you! LOL!

I've really enjoyed looking through your posts using Round & Round. I have that set, but never seem to be satisfied with my attempts with the circular images. You've given me some ideas for which I am most appreciative. And a belated congratulations on your two-year blogiversary. I enjoy my visits here.
