Friendship Salad: 2B MWF

 
The Monday/Wednesday/Friday 2B class celebrates Thanksgiving by sharing a Friendship Salad. 
Each child brings a piece of fruit that is sliced

 
and combined into a tasty fruit salad

 
that they enjoy eating while practicing their fork skills. :)
 

Using the New Steps

We had fire drills last week and got to try out the new steps to and from the playgrounds (our destination when we evacuate).

 

Now we know that the steps not only look great, but they work great, too! This coming Saturday our Eagle Scout plans to finish up his project. If you're in the area, you may want to stop by and tell him and his crew what a great job they've done!

Making Applesauce: 2B MWF

Way back on October 1, three sweet little 2B-ers brought those of us who work in the office a treat...

 
an applesauce treat they had made with their teachers.

 
I enjoyed mine and, from what I understand, they all enjoyed their special applesauce snack, too! (I'm just sorry that I missed the whole picture-taking opportunity!)

Dressing Up: 2B MWF and 2B TTh

The older two year olds have been enjoying dressing up.

 
At this age,

 
anything can become an item for dress-up...

 
like a cheerleader dress with a baby doll outfit hat/mask (?!)

 
When you're two years old, dressing up doesn't necessarily involve pretending to be someone or something else. Sometimes it means just...

 
pulling it all out and piling on as much as you can.

And then, after you have a little help getting it all off,

 
finding someone else to layer it all back onto.

 

  

First Circle Time: 2B MWF

Circle time with two year olds can be a challenge at the beginning of the school year.

 
It usually starts out well enough. 
And the teachers are experts at keeping the children involved when their attention appears to be waning. They talk about the pictures. They count flower petals. They notice the colors.

 
But sometimes there are distractions...

 

like... "A 'fider!'" (spider) After that's taken care of, the children are back to the book...

 
albeit, the whole sit on the floor thing has been forgotten for the moment.

 
With some refocusing, they're back down and then...

 
up again. The other teacher joins the children on the floor...

 
but things are still touch and go...

 
until the story is finally finished.

 
And the playing can begin. :)
