This project was a special request from my mom.
She heads up the senior adult ministry at her church and needed little cards to go with poinsettias that will be delivered to the older adults who can't get out anymore to attend church activities. Her main request was that they say, "Merry Christmas from the Prime Timers." So — here's what I came up with.
SHOW
I know. Not my usual picture-taking location. This is actually in the parking lot of the post office the day I went to mail them. First I stopped by the grocery store to buy a poinsettia and get one of those plastic pick things that florists use to hold the little card. I used dimensionals to separate the stamped and scalloped layers specifically so that the pick could go between them. Since I'm not usually good at thinking things through before starting them, I'm pretty impressed that I thought of that. It worked perfectly.
AND TELL: stamps are from Just Rite Stampers (Christmas Stamp Ensemble, Times New Roman Font, 3-1/4" Circle Stamper) and Stampin' Up (Berry Christmas); cardstock is Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) and Paper Source (a discontinued shimmery red — actually two different reds, since I didn't have quite enough of the one that I started out with); ink is from PTI (New Leaf, True Black, Summer Sunrise) and Stampin' Up (Ruby Red); also used circle and scallop circle Nestabilities.
Wasn't it nice of the post office to plant holly bushes in their parking lot? They look great with my red poinsettia. So festive! :)
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!
