What a day it's been. It started out with me dropping my phone into the tub. Not good... and it really didn't like its brief bath. But it seems to have recovered now. Whew! And, besides that AOL was doing something that affected some email accounts... mine included. I couldn't access email until mid-afternoon. I didn't realize how dependent I was on technology. On the plus side, I had quite a bit of waiting time this morning (doctor appt, you know how that goes...) and I had a chance to put together what I think is a really good idea for Britt's wedding. But I'm not going to share that now. If it actually gets done, I'll share it then.
So, instead, now I'll share what I think is the last end-of-the-school-year post.
SHOW
I actually made three varieties of these flat notecards. Here are the other two.
I think the last one is my favorite. I really love that paper-pieced school bus. That was my first idea, but I decided it was going to take too long (as I was making 10 or more). So then I "Copic-ed" a bus. Still, too much work. So the rest were flowers. All stamping. Right in my comfort zone... easy peasy.
At the end of the school year, a few little gifts usually find their way onto my office desk — so these were my thank yous to the families who dropped those goodies off. Although, I haven't finished writing them all yet... :( Not sure what's taking me so long... Anyway, since they're flat notecards; I added my personal note of thanks to the back.
AND TELL: stamps are from Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #8 and #5, Boy Basics: Truckin' It, Flower Fusion #3); cards were purchased dirt cheap at a stationery store going out of business; patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket (Garden Variety line); ink is Stampin' Up (Real Red, Daffodil Delight) and Memento (Tuxedo Black); also used PTI dies (Truckin' It, Flower Fusion #3), some flat red stickers from my stash, and a couple yellow-ish Copics.
I know Britt, at least, is eager to see a few pictures from her shower last weekend... since she's asked me when I was going to update. So — here are a few.
This first one is pretty blurry... but I love it anyway. And I had just a little bit of fun doing some crazy coloring of it on Picasa. :)
That's Britt with Kenneth's sister and mom. Emily was the shower hostess and held it at her mother-in-law's house in Raleigh...
which is lovely inside and out...
When we first arrived, mimosas were served on the patio...
and then after a bit of socializing we were moved inside for brunch.
Quiche, ham biscuits, fresh berries... oh, my. But those ham biscuits. They were the best I've ever had, I think. A little sweet with the savory. They must've had butter & brown sugar or honey on them — so delicious.
After eating, we moved into the living room
for gift-opening.
It was interesting how the random opening of gifts kind of ran through the house in sequence with gifts for the kitchen, then the bathroom, the bedroom, and finally to the grill outside.
She received some really nice things — and it was so fun to watch her opening all the gifts.
Everyone was so generous...
She has some great friends and is marrying into a wonderful family.
And — I think she'll be a beautiful bride.
But, then, maybe I'm partial. :)
I'm beginning to realize that between getting ready for the next school year, getting ready for a summer wedding, and just regular life stuff... well... I may have things to post, but may not have time to post them. So... I'll pop back in when I can.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I really do appreciate your visits — and I hope to be back soon. :)

Cute notecards, and beautiful shower. That dining room reminds me of the B&B in Healdsburg, CA where I got married.
