Remember yesterday I was talking about having new toys? Well, this card uses a couple of them. I made it for Stacy's Curtain Call Color Challenge, Act 63.
SHOW
I decided not to stamp the little birds' legs. I wanted it to look more like they were sitting on the tree and cloud than like they were perching precariously on their lofty spaces. You know... relaxing. Taking in the view. Whatever.
AND TELL: stamps are from Papertrey Ink (Little Bitty Bird, Banner Builder); cardstock is PTI (Spring Rain, Stampers Select White) and Stampin' Up (Cajun Craze); ink is SU (Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, Craft White); gemstones are Kaiser; also used SU's Stampin' Write markers (Always Artichoke, Marina Mist), a Uniball Signo white pen, and PTI's cloud and bitty bird dies.
There is one thing that's been bothering me for some time now. See the little white dots that I made for the flower centers? Almost all of them are to the right of center. I've been noticing that my vision must be off. I used to have a great eye and could easily get things straight and centered. Lately, most everything goes to the right. It looks fine to me when I'm doing it and then when I step back I'm like... Oh, that's so not in the middle. Hmph. Well, I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow. Hopefully he can fix me. If he can't, I may need to find a new eye doctor because this is getting quite frustrating! (Because you know how I feel about doing things over again!)
I think that's it for today. I could just blog all day long and keep re-working and fine-tuning, but I do have a life also! Time to go do some of the stuff that it requires. Even if it is not as much fun as talking to you!
Hope you've had a great day — thanks so much for spending a bit of it here! See you soon.
How adorable!

You'll have to sell me this one to give to my grand daughter. I would think that living on the "left" coast thing would lean the other way. Hope it's not anything serious.

Love this card and the cute little birds coolin' out! I hadn't even noticed the dots until you mentioned them but since they're all a bit to the right it just looks like the flowers are all at a slight angle. Don't look odd or anything. :)

Love your card! It is so pretty with the way you used the colours - not too much of that Cajun! Think that is how I ran into trouble with my card but never mind - it is good to see eveyone's interpretation! Those PTI stamps are so nice.

Ooooh, I love how you used the little loopy design as the grass. The flowers look so cute popping up from the ground :)

This is another perfect 10 for me! How come you're so great at making birdie cards when you don't actually like them?! Just another of life's mysteries!

I really love the way you made the grass using that loopy border. Very, very creative Janelle. Great card.
